Description: Ytterbium fluoride was prepared by hydrogen fluoride gas fluorination. This is a dry fluorination method. The optimum reaction temperature is 700 ℃. The reaction time was 8h. The reaction is carried out in a rotary kiln type fluorination furnace. The consumption of dry HF is about 2.5 times of the theoretical one. The oxygen content of the high quality fluoride is in the range of 0.04% ~ 0.1%, the conversion rate is 99%, and the recovery rate is higher than 98%. In the operation of this method, attention should be paid to the protection of highly corrosive hydrogen fluoride gas.
