Description: Lanthanum hexaborate is a dark purple powder, which is difficult to dissolve in water and hydrochloric acid. In terms of chemical composition, lanthanum borate belongs to inorganic non-metallic materials, and in terms of material properties, it belongs to non oxygen metal refractory compounds. At room temperature, lanthanum hexaborate products have three forms: powder, polycrystal and monocrystal. At present, the preparation of lanthanum hexaborate is generally by boron carbide thermal reduction method, and the reaction formula is La2O3 + 3B4C--2LaB6 + 3CO; because of the introduction of boron carbide as the reaction raw material, the carbon content of the product is difficult to control, and because of the high hardness and large particle size of boron carbide, it is easy to produce the phenomenon of uneven mixture, which makes the chemical composition of the product deviate.
