Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, cerium dioxide is widely used in the polishing fields of glass, semiconductors and jewelry, and has attracted extensive attention from researchers in recent decades. Related studies have shown that the addition of F to polishing powder plays an important role in improving the performance of rare earth polishing powder.
The experimental results show that the addition of F changes the phase composition of the polishing powder and generates a new phase CeLa2O3F3; in addition, through SEM analysis of the two rare earth polishing powders, it is found that the addition of F promotes the agglomeration of the polishing powder crystals and increases the size of the agglomerated particles, but from the XRD data analysis, F has little effect on the change of the grain size and grain morphology of CeO2. From the perspective of the polishing performance of the polishing powder, the addition of F promotes the increase of the grinding force of the polishing powder.
Fluorine-containing rare earth polishing powder refers to a rare earth polishing powder with cerium oxide as the main component and containing fluoride. Its preparation process includes roasting rare earth fluoride carbonate at 400-600℃ for 0.5-3 hours to obtain a primary roasted product; roasting the primary roasted product at 600-850℃ for 0.5-3 hours to obtain a secondary roasted product; finally roasting the secondary roasted product at 850-1200℃ for 1-8 hours to obtain a tertiary roasted product, and then crushing the tertiary roasted product to obtain fluorine-containing rare earth polishing powder.
