Nickel sulfate has no water, hexahydrate and heptahydrate three, commercial mostly hexahydrate, there are two variants of α-type and β-type, the former is blue tetragonal crystal, the latter is green monoclinic crystal. According to product classification, it can be divided into electroplating grade nickel sulfate and battery grade nickel sulfate, the former is used in electroplating industry and battery industry, is the main nickel salt of electroplating nickel and chemical nickel, but also the source of metal nickel ions, can dissociate nickel ions and sulfate ions during electroplating process; Battery grade nickel sulfate is one of the main raw materials for the production of ternary precursor weight, and different kinds of precursors have different nickel content, so the amount of battery grade nickel sulfate is not the same. The biggest difference between electroplating grade nickel sulfate and battery grade nickel sulfate is cobalt content, the battery grade cobalt content requirement threshold is lower, the content requirement is only 0.4% (nickel 22.2%, cobalt 0.4%), because nickel sulfate as a ternary battery precursor raw material manufacturing, also need to use cobalt sulfate and other cobalt-containing salt, and electroplating grade nickel sulfate application downstream surface treatment industry, Cobalt is as an impurity element, need to reduce its content, the cobalt content should not exceed 0.05% (nickel 22.2%, cobalt 0.05%Max), electroplating grade nickel sulfate is mainly used for the production of automotive wheels, appearance parts and other products.

 

 

 

Used:The main application areas of nickel sulfate are as follows:

1:used in electroplating industry, is the main nickel salt of electroplating nickel and chemical nickel, but also the source of metal nickel ions, can dissociate nickel ions and sulfate ions in the electroplating process.

2:hardening oil production is a catalyst for grease hydrogenation.

3: the pharmaceutical industry for the production of vitamin C oxidation reaction catalyst.

4:no Chemicalbook machine used in the industry to produce other nickel salts such as: nickel sulfate, nickel oxide, nickel hydroxide, nickel carbonate, etc.

5:in the printing and dyeing industry, nickel sulfate is used to make phthalocyanine brilliant blue complexing agent and mordant of reduction dye. Among the applications in the above industries, electroplating, electroless plating and rechargeable batteries have the largest consumption, of which battery level consumption accounts for about 50% of the total demand
