Description: Tantalum pentoxide is a white crystalline powder, which is the most common oxide of tantalum. It is also the final product of combustion of tantalum in air. It is soluble in molten potassium bisulfate and hydrofluoric acid, and insoluble in water and other acids. Tantalum pentoxide can be prepared by potassium fluotantalate method. The process is to heat potassium fluotantalate and sulfuric acid to 400 ℃, add water to the reactant to boil, hydrolyze the acidification solution through full dilution, generate hydrated oxide precipitation, and then separate, wash and dry to obtain tantalum pentoxide product.
