Description: The lanthanum oxide or hydroxide is dissolved in hydrobromic acid, evaporated, concentrated, cooled, washed with ethanol and ether to obtain its hexahydrate. The latter is dehydrated iwith ammonium bromide, and then heated in the helium gas stream at 600 ℃ to obtain the anhydrous lanthanum bromide. Safety instructions: in case of contact with eyes, immediately wash with plenty of water and send to a doctor for treatment; wear appropriate protective clothing.Hazard Code: R36 / 37 / 38: irritating to eyes, respiratory tract and skin.
