Samarium iron nitride (SmFeN) rare earth permanent magnet material is a new generation of rare earth permanent magnet material. It is mainly composed of rare earth element samarium (Sm) and transition metal iron (Fe), and nitrogen (N) element is introduced through nitriding process to form a compound with a specific crystal structure and excellent magnetic properties. Its chemical formula is usually expressed as Sm2Fe17N3. This material has the characteristics of high saturation magnetization intensity and high magnetocrystalline anisotropy field, showing unique advantages in the field of permanent magnet materials.
Compared with traditional NdFeB permanent magnet materials, SmFeN rare earth permanent magnet materials have certain advantages in some properties, such as its high theoretical magnetic energy product, which is expected to play an important role in some application scenarios with demanding magnetic properties; at the same time, the Curie temperature of SmFeN materials is relatively high, which may make it have better magnetic stability in high temperature environments.
SmFeN magnet powder is the basic raw material for preparing various SmFeN permanent magnet products, which is prepared by a specific powder metallurgy process. Injection molded bonded SmFeN magnets are made by mixing SmFeN magnet powder with an organic binder and forming magnet products of various shapes and sizes through an injection molding process.
